How Handy Rail works
Vertical Rail and Fittings

The system is based on vertical upright rails, which support arms and fittings are bolted to.

The vertical rails are of a special shape, the front being open so the support fittings can be positioned at and point along the rail length allowing flexibility.

The back of the rail, which is positioned against the wall has 66 fixing slots along the 2000mm length, allowing the wall fixings to be positioned exactly to our recommendations.

This means that due to the support arms not fitted into any slot and are bolted to an open front , no slot alignment is required when fitting, making the erection of the vertical rails extremely easy.

The wall fitting for the vertical rail are specially designed for Handyrails need for both Brick and low density concrete block (breeze blocks).

Support Fittings.

The Support arm and fitting are erected onto the vertical rails by our simple but unique ‘Rail-LOK’ system, allowing the arms to be positioned and re-positioned as required at any point along the 2000mm rail.

The support arms lengths are 400mm, 520mm, 610mm and 820mm they can be used to support wooden shelves or work tops.
Also used for hanging ladders access tower etc.

Our Universal brackets can be used with or without the support arm for a host of possibilities.
1. The wall must be sound and of good quality 2. Position of the storage systen is determined. 3. First rail anchor position marked. 4. The hole is drilled.
5. Rail anchor is fitted. 6. The 2000mm rail is loosely fastened to the rail anchor. 7. The next holes are marked and drilled, the rail anchors are fitted. 8. The first rail is fitted to the wall and the rail anchors tightened, the same procedure is used to erect the second rail.
9. The support arms are fitted to the rail using the Rail-LOK system. 10. The support arms are then aligned. 11. In this instance wooden shelves are used. 12. The shelves are mounted on the support arms.
13. The shelves are fixed to the support arms with Handy-Rail fixing bolts. 14. Bolts are then tightened and plastic end caps fitted. 15. Storage area complete.
